Pan-European hostel and bar operator Beds and Bars, led by Keith Knowles has unveiled its first year intake of rising star employees; a pool of extraordinary talent selected from within the company.
After an exhaustive exploratory phase and 50 internal interviews, 12 high-flying employees were selected to receive this bespoke mentoring, and career fast track title.
Key benefits of being a Beds and Bars Rising Star include highly focused career development paths, with the opportunity to become a fast track General Manager, with access to specially developed training programmes, the company’s board of directors, and key mentoring channels. Those selected from across Europe also receive in person training at the company’s head office in London.
Mark Vaughan, Retail Training Manager for Beds and Bars said: “This has been the best thing I’ve done this year. To see such an incredible pool of talent be developed from within the company thrills me more than anything else.”
Included among the rising stars selected in this intake, is Beds and Bars Employee of the Year Jennifer van der Linde. Jennifer had been nominated for the company’s employee of the month award four times in the past financial year. She was primarily recognised for her work as a hostel ambassador – during her time at St Christopher’s Inn, Greenwich.
Jennifer added to Mark’s statement and said: “I sincerely appreciate the investment in my career development and personal management style, bestowed upon me by Beds and Bars.”
Beds and Bars operate 21 backpacker hostels under the brand St Christopher’s Inns, plus bars and pubs, in 11 cities and eight countries. Key locations include London, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. St Christopher’s Inns is the largest independent chain of backpacker hostels in the world, without private equity backing.
